Singapore: Singapore is all set to do away with the quarantine restrictions for fully-inoculated Indian travellers under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) from November 29.
Singapore will start accepting Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) applications from Indian travellers November 22 onwards.
The move to begin quarantine-free travel was made following interactions between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong.
Going by Singapore’s travel guidelines, passengers coming from India can skip quarantine if they submit vaccination proof via an app like CoWin.
However, the Indians will have to produce a negative pre-departure test taken within two days prior to departure and undergo an on-arrival PCR test, the guidelines said.
India has started recognising vaccination certificates issued by Singapore since November 12. The health ministry of Singapore has also updated its public health assessment and is set to upgrade India to Category 2 from November 19.
According to the Category 2 classification, India will be recognised as a country either has similar or lower COVID-19 incidence rates than Singapore and other VTL nations.
