Bargarh: Bargarh saw six more people testing positive for coronavirus on Saturday, taking the affected tally in the western Odisha district to eight.
According to official sources, four people have been detected from Bheden and two from Bhatli block. Of them, five have travel history linked to outside the state and one is a local case in Bhatli. All were in quarantine.
Bargarh reported its maiden case on May 23.
The district administration declared the concerned areas as containment zones.
With these fresh cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases has gone up to 1729 in Odisha. While 977 people have recovered from the infection, the deadly virus has so far claimed seven lives in the state.
