Bhubaneswar: Six journalists from Odisha will be conferred with Odisha Journalism Award 2022 for outstanding contribution to Indian journalism in print, electronic and web media.
Pallibani Mission, a Delhi-based institution working for Odia literature and culture, recently announced the names.
The recipients are Soumyajit Patnaik, Chief Editor of Kalinga TV, Durgashish Shish, Managing Editor of Argus News, Bhabani Sankar Tripathy, DGM News of Sambad, Manoranjan Joshi, Western Odisha Bureau Chief of OTV and Sudeep Kumar Rout, the Chief News Coordinator of Prameya.
Apart from these, Sharada Lahangir will be the first recipient of the newly introduced ‘Pratibha Patnaik Award for Excellence in Journalism’. The award has been instituted from this year and will be awarded exclusively to women journalists, spokesperson of the mission said.
The awards will be presented in a ceremony scheduled to be held at India International Centre in New Delhi on July 22. Union Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest. Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Chairman of Patanjali Ayurved Acharya Balakrishna will also be present, Chairman of Pallivani Mission Ramachandra Nath informed.
