Bhubaneswar: “Skilled-in-Odisha: Exhibition-cum-Sale” showcasing the creative products of the students of ITIs across states has been opened in Bhubaneswar.

Organised by the Skill Development and Technical Education department to mark 76th Independence Day, the exhibition at Kharavel Bhawan in the city was opened on Monday and will continue till Friday. It features an array of exquisite items including decorative pieces, wood products, personal accessories, bakery items and various other innovative creations crafted by the talented ITI students.

The event seeks to promote the concept of utilising waste materials to create valuable products, reflecting not only the students’ creativity but also their commitment to sustainability.

On the second day of the exhibition, Minister of Skill Development & Technical Education Pritiranjan Gharai interacted with the ITI students. He said “Skilled In Odisha” has become a global brand. Admiring the innovative concept of the exhibition, he expressed a strong determination to elevate these outlets to the level of a distinguished brand called “Skilled In Odisha”.

“This initiative aims at providing students with recognition and income generation prospects. The goal is to empower and uplift the skilled artisans of Odisha, showcasing their talents on a broader platform,” he added.

The primary objectives of the “Skilled In Odisha” are to raise awareness about the brand among the public and provide ITI trainees a platform to showcase their talents and express themselves artistically. The event brings together four government ITIs at Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Takatpur in Mayurbhanj.
