Jharsuguda: As the Crime Branch is yet to ascertain the motive behind the mysterious murder of Naba Das even ten days after the crime, slain Minister’s teacher expressed doubts over the outcome of the investigation saying it is not moving on the right track.
“The inquiry does not seem to be moving in the right direction. I doubt whether the investigation will be able to reach its logical conclusion,” said B P Nanda, who was a teacher of Naba Das.
Expressing surprise over the manner in which pieces of letter purportedly written by the lone accused Gopal Das were recovered from a septic tank, he wondered as to how the dismissed policeman managed carry the letter for so long.
According to a former state police chief, the police should have searched the pockets of Gopal Das immediately after he was caught, Nanda said, and wondered as to how the accused dumped and flushed it in the wash room.
Stating that he was worried over the probe, he and asked as to how Naba Das will get justice.
Noting that the death of leaders like Madhavrao Scindia and Rajesh Pilot remained a mystery, while the accused were caught immediately after Indira Gandhi’s assassination and the purpose of their act became clear.
However, Gopal Das is yet to reveal the motive behind murdering the Minister which creates doubts, Nanda said.
“Let us see. Senior officers are conducting the probe and they have shown their expertise in the past. It will be good if they become successful in their probe,” he added.
