Slight Fall In Daily COVID Caseload After Rise For 3 Days In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload which was constantly rising in the city since Wednesday witnessed a slight fall on Saturday with 218 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The city had logged 267 new cases on Friday, 213 on Thursday, 182 on Wednesday, 163 on Tuesday and 174 on Monday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 56 of the new infections are from quarantine and 162 local contacts.

Of the local contacts, maximum of 15 cases have been reported from Nayapalli, followed by 12 from Sailashree Vihar, 11 from Chandrasekharpur, and 9 from Khandagiri.

Bhubaneswar also saw another 198 patients recovering from the disease during the period. The number of deceased due to COVID is 1,014.

The active cases have gone up to 3,694 while total 1,10,671 people have been infected so far.
