Bhubaneswar: Saumyesh Acharya, who graduated in 2020 from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), faculty of agricultural sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, has cracked the Odisha Civil Services examination – 2022.
As per the results published recently, Saumyesh has been placed 83rd in the list of successful candidates.
After passing B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture from IAS, Saumyesh completed his M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Agricultural Extension from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Visvavidyalaya in West Bengal in 2022. He also cracked the UGC Net 2022 and ICAR Net in 2023.
Saumyesh is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension from Visva Bharati, West Bengal.
A recipient of the Ganga Singh Chauhan Memorial Award for his research in the domain of extension, Saumyesh has also co-authored a book titled ‘Farmer Producer Organisation- The Neo Institutional Revolution in Indian farming.’
SOA Founder President Prof. (Dr) Manojranjan Nayak felicitated Saumyesh at the university on Monday, in the presence of SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Dean of IAS Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das and senior professor Prof. Saroj Kumar Mohanty.
