Bhubaneswar: SOA Deemed to be University on Tuesday helped the Odisha government in launching a 110-bed COVID-19 hospital at Kendrapara.
The hospital has been provided with all the necessary life-saving devices including ventilators.
This new COVID hospital has been set up at a Government Polytechnic at Chhata near Kendrapara town and is funded by the state government.
Doctors, nurses and para-medics of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, SOA’s faculty of medicine will be in charge of the hospital.
Technical expertise will be provided by IMS and SUM Hospital.
Kendrapara District Collector Samarth Verma, was present at the commissioning of the hospital.
The District Collector and Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital, Dr Pusparaj Samantasinhar had signed a MoU in this connection on Monday at Kendrapara.
SOA’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, Director Prof. Manas K. Mallick and Kendrapara Deputy Collector Jyoti Prakash Mohapatra were present on the occasion.
Earlier, IMS and SUM Hospital had set up a 525-bed Covid Hospital in the SOA Campus.
