Bhubaneswar: Students of the SOA (Deemed University) will stage 10 street plays at prominent places in the capital between November 25 and December 10 to create awareness against gender violence. It is part of a campaign to be launched by the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL).
SOA’s NSS Programme Coordinator Dr Nachieketa Sharma, who attended a workshop on the subject conducted by BSCL recently, informed the authorities about SOA’s support to the campaign.
SOA students and faculty members had participated in 18 different programmes organised by BSCL last year.
Participants in the workshop agreed that there was a need to sensitise students and teachers in college campuses about the evil to ensure there was no gender violence, Dr Sharma said.
Besides Dr Sharma, Dr Rita Prusty, Dr Saroj Kumar Mohanty, Dr Sovan Patnaik and Dr Sourya Ranjan Das attended the workshop.
