Bhubaneswar: Mercury crossed 40 degree Celsius at 11 places as heatwave condition intensified in Odisha on Sunday.
According to the evening bulletin of regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Sonepur recorded the highest of 42.3 degree Celsius followed by Balangir at 42.2 degrees.
The other places that recorded high temperature are: Baripada and Titilagarh recording 42 degree Celsius followed by Jharsuguda at 41.8, Sambalpur 41.7, Boudh 41.5 and Angul 40.9 degrees.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered maximum temperature of 37.4 and 36.2 degree Celsius, while coastal town Gopalpur lowest temperature in the state with 30.3 degree Celsius.
