Bhubaneswar: The 1994-batch IPS officer, Soumya Mishra, has been appointed as the Additional DG, Fire Services and Home Guards, a Home Department notification said on Wednesday.
Mishra, who is the first woman IPS officer of Odisha, is on inter-cadre deputation from Telangana.
Born in Cuttack, Mishra has done her PhD in Sociology and Master’s in Police Management.
Prior to her new appointment, she was posted in the Crime Investigation Department of the Telangana Police in Hyderabad.
