Bhubaneswar: While heavy rainfall warning was issued for Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts in Odisha this morning, there is a forecast for light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda and at a few places in remaining parts of the state during the day, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
The MeT office further said that Southwest Monsoon has been active in Odisha and light to moderate rain has occurred at many places in North Odisha and at a few places in South Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places in Bargarh during the last 24 hours.
There was also a forecast for light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur,Jharsuguda and at a few places in remaining districts till 8.30 am.
Earlier in the day, a nowcast warning for moderate rain with one or two spells of intense rainfall was issued for some parts of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj till 4.30 pm.
