Bhubaneswar: Government employees will be allowed special leave to exercise their franchise at a place away from the HQ in the forthcoming Panchayat elections in Odisha.
Polling for the three-tier panchayat elections will take place on February 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 from 7 am to 1 pm.
According to an official order, employees of government undertakings/ boards/corporations/apex bodies, who have registered themselves as voters in Grama Panchayats, will be allowed special casual leave for a maximum of three days to cast their votes.
These will be in addition to normal casual leave granted to them during the calendar year 2022. “The written application by the employees will be sufficient to show their enrolment in a particular GP.
