Bhubaneswar: The Special Handloom and Handicrafts Expo-2023, organised by Sambalpuri Bastralaya, was inaugurated at Ekambra Haat in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Sobhan Krishan Sahoo, Director of Textiles inaugurated the expo that aims at boosting sales of handloom products and providing regular employment to the weaver members of the PWCS/SHGs. The Special Expo will continue till October 31.
Sambit Kumar Acharya, president of Sambalpuri Bastralaya; Debajit Nandy, Joint Director of Textiles and Hemanta Kumar Mishra, Marketing Officer, Sambalpuri Bastralaya were present in inaugural ceremony.
Total 34 stalls have been opened to showcase the products of PWCS/SHG of Baragrh, Cuttack, Sonepur, Athagarh, Baripada, Balasore, Patanagarh, Nayagarh, Khurda and Boudh besides Sambalpuri Bastralaya. The stalls have been allotted to the participants free of cost.
The customers can get handloom products from across the state at a reasonable price with 10% discount in the expo.
