Bhubaneswar: Twelve international students of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here received their degrees at a special graduation ceremony here on Saturday.
Students are from six countries – 5 from Uganda, 3 from Nepal and 1 each from Bhutan, Lesotho, Burundi and Somalia — received their certificates.
They successfully completed courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, MBA and BBA LLB.
This is the second batch of foreign students to have graduated from the university.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, who presented the degrees, wished the students a bright career.
Two students from Uganda — Murungi John who did his M.Tech in structural engineering and Mawombe Shallon, who completed her B.Tech in civil engineering — responded with their acceptance speeches.
Controller of Examination Prof. Manjula Das, Dean of Institute of Agricultural Sciences Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean of Institute of Business and Computer Studies Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Additional Dean (Student Affairs) ITER Prof. Renu Sharma, Professor at SOA National Institute of Law Prof. Prabir Patnaik and Director, University Outreach Programme Prof. Nachieketa K Sharma were present at the graduation ceremony.
