Berhampur: Police seized duplicate gutkha from an electric vehicle showroom in Odisha’s Berhampur city on Friday.
According to sources, a team of Bada Bazaar Police conducted a raid after receiving a tip-0ff and seized around 30 bags of duplicate gutkha from the showroom at Fastgate in the city.
However, the owner of the showroom had fled after learning police raid on the shop. A manhunt has been initiated to nab the owner, said sources.
The cops have also begun an investigation to ascertain the manufacturing unit of these duplicate gutkhas.
It is worth noting that for the past few days, the police have been conducting extensive raids on spurious gutkha factories in Brahampur city and its outskirts.
