Dhenkanal: Works Minister Prafulla Mallick on Sunday said steps are being taken to ensure safety of the people in the flood-affected areas of his home constituency Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district.
Speaking to the media after visiting the flood-hit areas, he said though the main roads in low-lying areas of the blocks and panchayats are submerged in floodwater, there are alternative roads for the people to reach Kamakhyanagar sub-divisional headquarters.
He said the Block Development Officers (BDOs) have been asked to stay in touch with the people of the villages and panchayats affected by the flood and take necessary steps to redress their grievances at the earliest.
