Berhampur: Actor-comedian Papu Pom Pom was greeted with stones as he took the stage, albeit an hour late, during a two-day programme organised on the occasion of Shivratri at Surala village under Chikiti block in Odisha’s Ganjam.
According to sources, one of the stones missed him narrowly and hit the digital signboard while another hit a youth on the stage. The stone pelting continued even after the actor requested the audience to maintain peace and allow the programme to continue. But the audience was in no mood to let the actor take the stage and he soon left the venue.
The actor was scheduled to arrive at 10 pm on Friday but was delayed by an hour. The reason behind this delay is not known. While the organisers are yet to comment on the issue, no FIR has been filed with regard to the incident, sources added.
