Angul: A lecturer of Angul Government College was allegedly abducted and thrashed by a group of students on Friday.
According to reports, about 4-5 students barged into the room where Philosophy lecturer Pradyumna Beura was taking a class. They forcibly took him to an isolated place and beat up mercilessly.
Beura was later rescued by police from Hulurusingha in the district in a critical condition. Basing on a complaint lodged by the victim, police have seized the CCTV camera in which the entire incident was captured and started investigation.
Sources alleged that the students attacked the lecturer for earlier having stopped them from copying during an examination in the college.
