Bhubaneswar: The students of different schools and colleges participated in a sketathon, organised as part of the Centre’s Mission Life – Lifestyle for Environment, in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Police Commissioner Somendra Priyadarshi flagged off the awareness sketathon which was organised by the Integrated Regional Office of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in association with the Unicorn Skating Academy in Bhubaneswar. He advised the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle and contribute to the cause of environment.
Deputy Director General of Forests (Central) Arta Trana Mishra explained about the Mission Life and Lifestyle Changes which are needed for a healthy living.
The sketathon started from Commissionerate of Police and culminated at Integrated Regional Office in Chandrasekharpur. A pledge was administered to the participants by Deputy Inspector General of Forests (Central) Padma Mahanti on adopting a healthy lifestyle and promoting the awareness among their families and friends.
Certificates were distributed to all the participants of the sketathon. The programme ended with a note on adopting non-motorised transport and being a part of India’s commitment to reduce carbon emission and combat climate change.
