Bhubaneswar: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to launch the ambitious Subhadra Yojana of the Odisha government on September 17, the women beneficiaries are eager to know whether they will be able to receive the first instalment.
Seeking to remove confusion over the issue, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Saturday made it clear that all women who have already applied or get registered for the Subhadra Yojana on or before September 15 will get the first instalment after the launch of the ambitious scheme by the Prime Minister.
Stating that over 50 lakh women have already applied for the scheme so far, she said all these women will get their first instalment of Rs 5,000 on September 17.
The Deputy CM said that others who submit their applications on or before September 15 (Sunday0 will be able to get the first instalment under the scheme, aiming at the welfare of women.
Notably, the Prime Minister is scheduled to launch the scheme on his birthday on September 17.
The money will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the applicants, Parida said.
Subhadra Yojana is being seen as the largest, single women-centric scheme and is expected to cover more than one crore women.
Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 to 2028-29.
