New Delhi: The Supreme Court will pronounce its judgment in the Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute on Saturday.
As per news report, the five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will deliver its verdict around 10.30 am. Click here to view the notice posted on the Supreme Court website.
The bench had reserved its judgement on October 16 after conducting a marathon hearing which stretched for 40 days.
Earlier on Friday, the CJI had a meeting with the chief secretary and the director general of police of Uttar Pradesh to review the law and order situation in the state.
The state has been put on high alert, flag marches are being carried out across cities and all schools and colleges will remain shut. A nation-wide alert has also been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The apex court had begun hearing of the case on August 6 after mediation between the Hindu and the Muslim claimants had failed.
