Keonjhar: With 43 new cases reported overnight, Keonjhar district’s COVID-19 caseload surged to 653 on Monday.
Of the 43 new patients, an overwhelming majority of 34 were local contact cases. The rest comprised eight cases reported from home quarantine and one COVID warrior.
Of the 34 local contact cases, nine were detected in institutional quarantine centres.
Contract tracing of all the cases are underway, the district administration tweeted.
With 417 recoveries, Keonjhar district has 236 active cases at present.
