Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) released Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari from quarantine in Mumbai on Thursday night after CBI took over the probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
This followed a request by Bihar Police to exempt him from quarantine to facilitate his return to his home state to resume duties.
The BMC allowed Tiwari to leave the quarantine centre on a condition that he would leave the city before the seventh day of his arrival – August 8, stating that “a quarantine is not mandatory for a short stay.”
Tiwari was quarantined on his arrival in Mumbai to supervise the Sushant Singh Rajput death case probe following a complaint lodged by the actor’s father in Patna.
