Tata’s Nexon SUV, which recently received a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP safety rating agency proved its worth in an accident on the Mumbai-Goa highway.
The SUV fell top down off the highway from a height of 15 feet. All the occupants are reported to be safe, with just minor scratches.
The incident happened around 1:15 am on February 17. Police said the driver lost control but was not under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.
Mahindra’s XUV300 recently received the highest safety rating among India-made cars, a proud moment for Indian manufacturers. Tata’s latest hatchback Altroz also received 5 stars. However, country’s leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has decided not to take part in the Global safety rating programme and instead wait for the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Programme.
