Kalinganagar: Eighteen students from displaced families of Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) were on Monday awarded ‘Tata Steel Parivar Scholarship’ for 2022-23.
The scholarships were presented to the students by chief guest Sankar Biswas, TSK’s Mechanical Maintenance Chief, Prakash Sanjay, TSK & TSM Security Chief, Subrat Mahapatra, TSK Rehabilitation & Resettlement Head, and Subhransu Sekhar Panda, TSK & TSM Corporate Communications Head.
Leaders from the community and family members of displaced persons were present at the function at Corporate Services Hall of TSK, near Duburi in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
Among the scholarship awardees, 6 are studying Engineering, 11 students are undergoing Diploma courses in different Engineering streams and one is pursuing MBA.
The scholarship includes full tuition fee, admission fee and hostel dues of the students for the entire course duration.
Congratulating the students for the scholarship, Sankar Biswas said
“Tata Steel is committed towards the development of the people in and around in areas of operation and this scholarship is one such step towards this commitment. With this initiative, Tata Steel aims to groom and support the youngsters for a better career that would transform the life of their families. Benefits of industrialization must reach the displaced families who have partnered in the development of Kalinganagar,” said Biswas.
Introduced in 2007, Tata Steel Parivar Scholarship has been provided to 210 students from displaced families thus far.
