New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the BJP for promoting The Kashmir Files and demanding the film be made tax-free in Delhi, like in other saffron party-ruled states.
If they want everyone to watch the movie, director Vivek Agnihotri should release it on YouTube, the Delhi CM said.
“The BJP is is putting up posters of a movie in every street across the country. Did you come into politics to do this? What will you tell your children when you go home… If a Prime Minister of a country, after running a country for eight years, has to seek refuge in the feet of Vivek Agnihotri, it means he hasn’t done anything in his tenure. They are asking for The Kashmir Files to be made tax-free. Put it on YouTube, it will be free for all. Why do you want it to be tax-free? If you want this done so badly, tell Vivek Agnihotri and he will put it on YouTube. Everyone will watch it in one day),” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal’s outburst comes a day after BJP legislators interrupted budget session proceedings in Delhi assembly and demanded that The Kashmir Files be made tax-free in the state.
The Kashmir Files, which is the most talked-about film in recent times, has been declared tax-free in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh.
