Rourkela: A private school teacher was arrested by Odisha Police from Bihar for eloping with a Class VIII student of the school where he was teaching.
The teacher, who teaches maths in an English medium school at Kutra area, to where the girl belongs, eloped with the student to Siwan in Bihar with a plan to marry her secretly.
Police began the search for the teacher after the girl’s parents filed a missing complaint on March 5.
The girl went missing from her home on March 5 evening. Her father lodged a complaint following which a kidnapping case was registered at Kutra police station, said Rajgangpur SDPO Sashank Sekhar Beura. After a intense probe police traced the missing girl to Siwan in Bihar and rescued her, he said and added that the accused has been arrested.
A printing machine, two-wheeler, vermillion and bangles were also seized from the accused, he added. It is suspected that the teacher trapped he gullible girl in a love relationship. Investigation is on.
