Berhampur: In a shocking incident, a teenager was allegedly stabbed to death by a friend, also a minor, at a village in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Tuesday evening. The motive for the killing, according to police, was past enmity.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Das of Kairasi village under Khallikote police limits in Ganjam.
According to police, the victim and assailant were friends and had a dispute following a cricket match that took place a few days back which could be the reason for the killing.
The accused attacked Rajesh with a sharp knife when he was going to the market to buy medicines for his sick mother. Locals rushed Rajesh to the Khalikote Community Health Centre (CHC) where he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused, also a minor, has been held and further details are awaited.
