Keonjhar: Tension prevailed at Hatadihi block office in Keonjhar on Thursday following the death of an Anganwadi worker in a road accident.
The deceased has been identified as Kiranbala Nayak of Kusatikiri village in the district.
The accident took place when the Anganwadi worker was on her way to the workplace and fell off the motorcycle, she was riding pillion. A critically injured Kiranbala was rushed to the Bhadrak Hospital, where doctors declared her ‘brought dead’.
Her family members along with other Anganwadi workers staged a dharna in front of the Hatadihi block office by placing the body and demanded compensation.
Though Additional District Collector of Anandpur tried to pacify the members, they have threatened to continue the dharna till their demands are fulfilled.
