Cuttack: Tension prevailed in Barang area of Odisha’s Cuttack district as a large number of angry locals detained a Mo Bus after it hit a car on Tuesday. The protesters alleged reckless driving by drivers of Mo Bus service.
According to preliminary information, the bus on route number 18 and bearing registration number OD 33V 3513 was proceeding to Bhubaneswar from Cuttack when it hit a car from the rear near Barang Chhak.
As the car was partially damaged in the mishap, local people immediately gathered at the site and detained the bus alleging careless driving by the driver.
Passengers of the bus and the occupants of the car and its driver are reported to be safe. No injury to anyone was reported.
As tension prevailed in the area, a team police team from Barang rushed to the site and pacified the protesters. Both the vehicles were taken to the police station and police launched a probe into the mishap.
While the passengers of the bus were left stranded at the site following the mishap, it was alleged that the Mo Bus authorities were yet to make any alternate arrangements for them to proceed to their respective destinations.
