Mumbai: Amidst the ongoing controversies in B-town, veteran actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has taken a dig at filmmaker Karan Johar and his controversial chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’.
During an interview with Republic TV, Shatrughan slammed shows like ‘Koffee with Karan’, which lead to controversies.
Shatrughan stated that there were no shows named ‘Koffee with Arjun’ during their era. He further stressed that film industry is not owned by anyone, and thus, no one can boycott any actor or artist as per their wish.
“During our era, there was no Koffee with Arjun. These kinds of planned events lead to different kinds of conversations and become a talking point,” said the veteran actor, targeting the Karan-hosted chat show.
Post Sushant’s demise, Karan and Alia Bhatt have been at the receiving end for making fun of the actor on ‘Koffee with Karan’.
KJo has also been called out for preferring star kids over outsiders in his movies. There were reports that elite filmmakers like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra had boycotted Sushant.
Speaking about nepotism and the recent controversies surrounding Bollywood, Shatrughan said, “As far as those who are being talked about at the moment are all members of our own society, but film industry kisi ki jaagir nahi hai, that one could say that, ‘Let’s boycott this person’ or ‘remove this person from the industry’.”
Shatrughan’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha was also dragged into the nepotism controversy after Sushant’s death.
