Rourkela: Police on Wednesday arrested three persons, including the proprietor of a gas agency, in connection with the LPG cylinder fire mishap that cost four lives at Indirapali Basti here.
Those arrested were identified as proprietor of Utkal Gas Agency Mukesh Kejriwal (28) and two employees of the firm, Trilochan Bhuyan (40) and Pranadhan Mohanty (55). They were produced in court, which remanded them in judicial custody after rejecting their bail pleas. The LPG distribution firm has been accused of negligence leading to the accident.
Four of a family sustained serious burn injuries in the cylinder fire mishap on July 31 and died while undergoing treatment at Ispat General Hospital here. The deceased were identified as Suresh Tripathy, his wife Suchitra, two minor daughters Sruti and Prach.
Suresh’s younger brother had registered a complaint at Jalda police outpost alleging negligence on part of the agency.
