Rourkela: The Cuttack Vigilance Cell today arrested three officials of Lathikata Block in Odisha’s Sundergarh district on corruption charges.
The anti-corruption officials had raided the houses of Lathikata BDO Purna Chandra Bhoi, Assistant Engineer Buddheswar Sahu and former Assistant Executive Engineer Rajkishore Sahu in the Chhend Colony area of the Steel city yesterday.
The raid was conducted on the basis of the alleged corruption in the construction of a road in Lathikata Block in 2017.
It was alleged that out of a total amount of Rs 1.32 crore earmarked for the construction of the road, Rs 42 lakh has been embezzled by these three officials.
