Puri: Three persons including a woman and two boys sustained critical burn injuries in accidental burst of firecrackers in Odisha’s Puri on Thursday.
According to sources, Sanjay Jena of Batagaon in the town had gone to purchase firecrackers from a shop near his house in the evening. While the shop owner, Bula Rout, was showing him the firecrackers, one of those accidentally fell on other crackers leading to an explosion.
Sanjay and Bula sustained critical injuries in the explosion. Bula’s sister-in-law Lipa Rath who was standing there also sustained burn injuries.
The locals informed the police and rushed all the three to the district headquarters hospital. Later, the three injured were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
The police have registered a case and started investigation.
