Berhampur: Three labourers were killed after being run over by an express train near a level crossing at Haladiapadar, on the outskirts of Berhampur, late on Sunday.
An eyewitness told the media that he had gone to attend the nature’s call around 12 am when he found some labourers walking on the railway track. He then noticed the headlight of the Bishakha-Tata Nagar Express train from a distance and shouted at them to get away from the tracks. But they could not hear him.
The speeding train hit the labourers, killing them on the spot.
On being informed, a team of Government Railway Police of Berhampur railway station rushed to the spot and removed the bodies of three labourers.
Sources in the locality said the deceased were natives of Bihar, who were working in a company in Berhampur.
Their identity is yet to be ascertained.
