Three more silver tableau will add to the grandeur of Durga Puja festivities in Cuttack this year, taking the number of pandals with a silver backdrop in the Millennium City to 27 .
Chhatra Bazaar, Ganga Mandir and Bidanasi puja committees are the new entrees to this elite Chandi Medha club.
“Since it is the centenary year, the committee unanimously decided to introduce Chandi Medha with 250 kg of silver to commemorate the occasion,” said Chhatra Bazaar Puja Committee president Debendra Kumar Sahoo. Locals have generously donated for it, he added.
It is the 75th year for Bidanasi Durga Puja Committee and it will be celebrating the occasion with a Chandi Medha for the goddess made out of 220 kg of silver, said secretary Tukuna Satpathy.
Ganga Mandir Puja Committee is celebrating its 25th year and to mark the occasion, it has designed the tableau using 192 kg of silver.
