Balasore: Three persons from Haridapada village under Soro police limits in Balasore district were injured during a clash with a dacoit gang on Saturday night.
According to sources, one Sudam Charan Bauli from Haridapada village was on his way home at night when he was detained by seven dacoits at Pitakalia Chhak. Soon, he called from his mobile phone and informed some of his village folks. At this, the dacoits attacked him with sharp weapons.
In the meanwhile, the villagers rushed to the spot. Seeing them, the dacoits attacked them and they retaliated too.
A team of Soro police led by the ASIs Pradip Mohanty and Pratap Kurlo rushed to the spot and caught one member of the gang while the other members managed to escape.
Police later admitted three injured villagers, Ajay Kumar Bauli, Ajay Kumar Behera and Pradip Kumar Mahakud, and the dacoit Pradyumna Senapati from Marshaghai area of Kendrapada district to the community health centre (CHC) at Soro.
