Bhubaneswar: The IMD has forecast that thundershower with lightning is likely in Odisha’s Khurda and Puri districts in next two and a half hours.
In nowcast warning, issued at 7 pm on Saturday, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert and said light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershower with lightning is likely to affect some parts of Khurda and Puri districts in next three hours.
The Met office has advised the people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
In its evening bulletin, the IMD forecast that heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur by 8.30 am on Sunday.
It also said heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts during the period.
