Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for 13 districts of Odisha, including Cuttack and Khurda, till 3.30 pm on Saturday.
Orange warning of light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain has been sounded for some parts of districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Ganjam within next three hours.
Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and light to moderate rain may also occur in some parts of Khurda, Balasore, Rayagada, Jajpur, and Bhadrak during this period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
