Bhubaneswar: Priyanka, an old tigress of Nandankanan zoo, died the morning on Monday while undergoing treatment.
According to zoo officials, the 19-year and five-month-old tigress died of old age illness. She was under treatment for the last two years.
With the death of Priyanka, the number of tigers in the zoo has come down to 26 with five common male tigers and eight female tigresses, four male white tigers, five female white tigresses and four melanistic tigers.
