Mumbai: Popular comedy show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ (TMKOC) has seen several actors getting replaced apparently because of creative differences or unresolved issues with producer Asit Kumar Modi.
Now, the lead character of the sitcom Dilip Joshi (who plays Jethalal Gada) has threatened to quit the show after an ugly spat with the producer.
According to a report in News18 Showsha, Dilip had a heated argument with Asit during which the former even held the producer’s collar and threatened to walk out of the show.
Disclosing what went wrong, source close to the production house told News18, “It was the last day of Kush Shah’s shoot. Dilip ji was waiting for Asit bhai to come and talk to him about his leaves. But when Asit bhai came, he directly went to meet Kush. This disappointed Dilip ji.”
“Dilip ji got very angry and the two got into a heated argument. Dilip ji even held Asit Modi’s collar and threatened to leave the show. However, Asit bhai calmed him down. We don’t know how to two sort their differences,” the source continued.
The source further revealed that this is not the first time the actor and producer engaged in a brawl. and had several heated arguments earlier also.
The much-loved comedy show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been running for over 16 years and Dilip has been a part of the show since its beginning.
However, several popular actors including Disha Vakani (Daya Ben), Raj Anadkat, Bhavya Gandhi, Gurucharan Singh, Shailesh Lodha, Neha Mehta and Jennifer Mistry have been replaced.
