Bhubaneswar: Odisha has won the title of ‘Change Agent Of the Year’ at the Times of India Sports (TOISA) 2019.
Hockey Promotion Council, Odisha, CEO Somesh Upadhyay received the award on behalf of the state government at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi on Thursday.
Touted as the ‘sports capital’ of India, Odisha has hosted most of the international hockey championships and important tournaments in several other sports as well. The FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in November this year and the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup in 2023 will also be held the Odisha capital.
Odisha had more reasons to cheer at TOISA 2019 with ace woman sprinter Dutee Chand and para-shuttler Pramod Bhagat from the state winning awards for athletics and para-sports.
