Bhubaneswar: At least seven persons, including six tourists, had an agonising experience following a technical snag in an elevator at Dhauli Peace Pagoda on the outskirts of Odisha capital on Friday.
Sources said the six tourists and the lift operator were trapped inside the elevator for over 45 minutes after it suddenly stopped functioning midway.
On being informed, police personnel and local shopkeepers swung into action and the tourists were rescued.
All those who were trapped in the lift are stated to be safe. They were taken to hospital for a medical check-up and the tourists as well as the lift operator are stated to be in proper state.
