Bhubaneswar: In order to address the surge in electricity demand due to heatwave and ensure quality power supply to its customers, Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has energised a 33 KV feeder line in Gondia sub-division in Dhenkanal district.
The TPCODL team in the sub-division, led by the Distribution Engineer Division (DED) in Dhenkanal Division, completed and energised the new 33 KV feeder line. This 6-km line, extending from Gondia 132/33 KV Grid Substation, will enhance the power distribution infrastructure, said a press release of TPCODL on Tuesday.
The new feeder line will benefit around 36,000 consumers in Gondia, Nihalprasad, and Joranda. Besides, power outages in these areas will significantly decrease and improve electricity reliability, the joint venture company of Tata Power and the Odisha Government said.
Previously, Gondia sub-division relied on a 36-km 33 KV feeder line from 132/33 KV Gundichapada Grid Substation. The new 33 KV Gondia feeder, at just 6 km, will address a longstanding issue and fulfil a key project for the DED Dhenkanal Division.
“This initiative highlights our commitment to ensuring reliable and quality power supply for our customers, especially during challenging times such as heatwaves. I extend my sincere thanks to the dedicated efforts of our O&M staff, project team, E&MR team, MMG team and everyone involved in the successful completion and commissioning of the new feeder line,” said Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL.
