Traffic Restrictions In Bhubaneswar For Naveen Patnaik’s Roadshow This Afternoon

Bhubaneswar: Amid the intensifying electioneering in Odisha, Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to hold a massive roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Thursday afternoon.

The roadshow will begin from Ganganagar Chhak and pass through the LIC Office, Gopabandhu Chhak, DAV School Unit-8, HDFC Bank Square, Balunkeswar temple Square, Mamtaj Ali School, Srikrishna Club, Behera Sahi Square, Bayababa Mutt Chhak, Rupali Square, Ram Mandir Square, Master Canteen Square before culminating at Sisubhawan Square.

There will be restrictions on vehicular movement along this stretch during the roadshow.

According to the traffic guidelines issued by the Commissionerate Police, no vehicles are allowed to ply from Ganganagar Chhak, Unit-6, to Sisubhawan Square via LIC Office Square, left turn, Gopabandhu Square, OUAT Gust House Square, right turn, DAV School Square Unit-8, HDFC Bank Square, left turn, Balunkeswar Temple Square, Mamtaj Ali School, Srikrishna Club, right turn, Behera Sahi Square, Nicco Park Square, Bayababa Mutt, left turn, Rupali Square, u-turn, Ramamdnadir Square, Sriya Square, Master Canteen Square, and Sisubhawan Square from 4.30 pm till the end of the roadshow.

Vehicles coming from lane/bylane are not allowed to take these roads from Ganganagar Chhak to Sisubhawan Square during this period.

Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh had earlier told the media that the carcade will be cordoned off during the movement and barricades will be put up at all places where the VIPs will address the public. “Senior officers will be deployed at all important places to ensure that no sabotage takes place. Our men will be deployed on all high-rise buildings along the route,” he added.

Following the traffic restrictions, CRUT tweeted to inform that Mo Bus routes 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22A, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 34, 36, 38, 39, 49 and 50 may be affected from 4.30 pm onwards till the end of the event.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president J P Nadda have also conducted roadshows in the city as a part of the party’s poll blitzkrieg in the state.
