Bhubaneswar: The movement of passenger trains from Bhubaneswar was affected as some wagons of a goods train were left on the tracks after the engine got detached on Saturday evening.
According to sources, while leaving Vani Vihar station near Bhubaneswar, the engine of the goods train got detached from some bogeys. As the locomotive pilot could not know about it, he kept the train running till it reached Mancheswar station.
At Mancheswar, the loco pilot came to know that some bogeys had been detached and stopped the train. On being informed, the Railway officials went to the spot and made arrangements to bring the train back to Vani Vihar for coupling with the detached bogeys.
But the movement of several passenger trains at Bhubaneswar was affected as those were detained in various locations. The trains to Visakhapatnam, Anugul, Nayagarh, Talcher and Puri have been affected, the sources said.
