There are 40,287 transgenders in a population of 10.41 crore in Bihar, The New Indian Express reported.

DIG-ranked police officers will be empowered to recruit eligible transgenders in the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and constable through set norms of appointments.
