Bhadrak: A day after police detained a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of murdering a woman and her minor daughter at Raimani village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, the body of another woman was recovered from the crime scene on Thursday.

With the recovery of the third body from the site, the minor boy has been accused of killing three persons.

Police said the bodies of Sukanti Munda (35) and her daughter Mini (7) were recovered from a forest area near Ganijang Hasinpur Adivasi sahi under the jurisdiction of Bhadrak Rural Police Station on Wednesday.

Sukanti, her husband Raju Munda and their daughter were living in Jalanga area and eked out a living by working as daily wagers.

The deceased elderly woman, whose body was found on Thursday, has been identified as the minor girl’s grandmother Sumati Munda.

During interrogation by the police, the accused was stated to have confessed to have murdered the three.

While the bodies of Sukanti and her daughter were spotted in the forest area, locals found the minor boy roaming the area in a suspicious manner.

It was suspected that the accused killed the woman after sexually assaulting her. Thereafter, he was suspected to have strangulated the minor girl.

Police have seized all the bodies and sent those for postmortem.

While the exact reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained, wage-related dispute was suspected to have led to the murder

The accused will be sent for medical examination before being forwarded to court. The exact reason behind the death of three persons can be ascertained after postmortem reports come, said police.
