The accused have been identified as Hasim Ali and MD Farhan Khan.

Police acted on a specific tip-off and carried out simultaneous raids at several places. Hasim and Farhan were nabbed from Jaleswar and Soro respectively. Three fake currency notes of Rs 2,000 denominations were seized from their possession.

Those arrested are being interrogated for lead into involvement of more people in the racket.

Police sources informed that the ongoing racket might have links in Kolkata.

Earlier on April 15, police had arrested five persons in connection with this racket and seized fake currency notes worth Rs 1.48 lakh.

These persons were arrested on the basis of information provided by one Bishnu Nayak, who was nabbed by police while attempting to deposit fake notes to the tune of Rs 44,000 at Khirikana Cooperative Society on April 10.
